December 8, 2017: Hannukah Shabbat Dinner

While it isn't quite Hannukah yet, Middlebury Hillel is celebrating the last Shabbat before students head home after a long semester. This Shabbat, Chef Lauren along with sous chefs Sam and Abby created a masterpiece of a meal. It's not a Hannukah meal without latkes, so this crew cooked up some legendary potato pancakes, sufganiyot challah (deep-fried and jelly-filled!), rugelach, and added some veggies to the mix with a cauliflower salad with tahini dressing. Can't forget applesauce - homemade from Rosh Hashanah apples from Happy Valley Orchard!

FUN FACT: we made 30 potatoes worth of latkes for dinner!

So many people came for dinner this Shabbat, and the food was a hit #nofoodwaste. Have a happy, happy Hanukkah this upcoming week, and show your bubbe this blog if she's worried you're not eating enough good food at school ;)

Happy Hanukkah!!
